The ADS Group has launched its 2019 UK Aerospace Outlook, detailing the significant contribution the aerospace industry makes to the UK economy.

One of the key areas the report focuses on is the strong relationships between industry and Government, in particular through Innovate UK and the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI), which supports technological innovations designed to help the UK maintain its position as a global leader in its field

The ADS Group represents and supports over 1000 UK businesses operating in the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors and is thus coordinating a strong UK presence at the Paris Air Show, which is taking place until 23rd June.

The Open Flight Deck project is one of the cutting-edge projects supported by the ATI and the Open Flight Deck consortium is proud to be helping ATI drive economic growth in the UK aerospace sector.  Open Flight Deck is at Paris Air Show in the GE Aviation Pavilion, showcasing the best of UK innovation in the aerospace industry.

The ADS 2019 Outlook also notes that there are over 31,000 highly skilled employees in aviation design and engineering across the UK. The Open Flight Deck project employs a large number of highly skilled engineers and has a significant focus on nurturing young talent, providing training and apprenticeship opportunities to help drive UK prosperity in aerospace both now and in the future.  Over a dozen graduates, apprentices and early career researchers have so far benefited from OFD and more are anticipated.
